How to Share Desktop & Remote PC Access with Team Viewer

TeamViewer is an easy to use and user-friendly desktop sharing and remote PC Access software. Using TeamViewer, you can remotely control a partner’s desktop to give online assistance, or you can share your desktop with him. TeamViewer consists of two modules, the main module, known as the Supporter module, and another, known as the Quicksupport or customer module. The Supporter Module needs to be downloaded and installed, while the Quicksupport module can be run online. This guide will show you how to use TeamViewer to share your desktop or to access a remote PC. Click here to download and install TeamViewer or click here to download the TeamViewer portable.

To use TeamViewer, you have to create a session or wait for one, created by your partner. Start the TeamViewer Support module, and you will see something similar to the following screen.

The module gives you an ID and a password. Your partner should also be running TeamViewer, and have obtained an ID and a password. One of you should communicate the ID to the other over a telephone. The partner’s ID should be entered in the space provided, and the kind of session should be chosen from the radio buttons below. You have a choice of Remote support, Presentation, File transfer or VPN. After that click the “Connect to partner” button.

If you choose the File transfer option, you will be shown something similar to the following screen.

Here you can go through the folders of both the local machine and the remote machine, select files and transfer them either way. If you choose Remote support, you are shown the remote machine’s desktop, which you can control from your own machine.

TeamViewer offers a lot of options to customize the software exactly how you want to have it. You can prioritize speed or quality for the display, and even customize the invitation e-mail that is sent to your partners.

TeamViewer QuickSupport

Your customers can use TeamViewer with no installation or admin rights required. They simply launch the QuickSupport module and they’re ready to go.

TeamViewer QuickSupport can also be customized quickly and easily with your own logo and greeting. If you also include your partner list data your partners will instantly show up in your partner list as soon as they start the QuickSupport. Additionally you can allow your partners to contact you via chat even before establishing a remote session.
